Chapter 4: Making Tortillas

My auntie Jocelyn taught me how to make tortillas yesterday.

How to make the dough: You put a lot of flour in the bowl and then you add some butter and salt. Mix it together and let it sit for about 13 minutes. Then you make it into round balls.

How to make the dough balls flat: First you have to get some flour and put it on the tortilla presser. Then you have to put the dough on the tortilla presser. And then you have to put some flour on the dough ball and close the tortilla presser lid. Squeeze up and down to make it flat and round. Lift the lid open and take the flattened dough out of the presser. Then it gets cooked!

Once it is cooked, you put it on a plate and eat it!
Everyone loved my tortillas at dinner last night.

Chapter 3: Big Rats

Big rats are not meat eaters. They are called capybaras. They are the biggest rats in the whole world. I went to a park to see them. I saw baby capybaras too! They were so cute.
Big rats have to stay close to the water because their skin will crack if it gets too dry.

Behind the door I am pushing on is an old building. I went up the steep stairs to the building. I had to go down on the rail. It was really steep.

Chapter 1: Before Leaving Home

Before leaving Elk Grove, my mom asked me what I think Brasil will be like. This is my answer:

Brasil will be hot, rainy, sunny, stormy, wet and windy.
I am ready to go to Brasil! I love the world.
